Meet Jamey
Jamey is a script developer and consultant currently based in Australia. She supports producers, writers and commissioning teams to create compelling, authentic and relevant stories for screen and audio.
Jamey initially trained as a script editor at BBC Scotland and went on to work in various script and story editing roles within BBC TV Drama Commissioning and BBC Studios Scripted, as well as assistant producing radio plays for BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Scotland.
Since 2020, Jamey has developed and consulted on a string of Audible Original serial drama and comedy podcasts produced by the likes of Fremantle, Hoodlum, Beyond Entertainment and Guesswork.
Jamey contracts as a story analyst and script developer for Dreamchaser Entertainment and is working to develop a number of exciting TV projects with them.
Jamey has a relationship with John Yorke Story and primarily subscribes to John’s methods of script and story development.
Through her work with the BBC Writersroom (a cross-platform BBC department which seeks out and develops new writing talent) Jamey has mentored many early-career screenwriters. Jamey is particularly skilled in supporting new writers who possess a unique voice – but lack knowledge of drama structure – to realise the full potential of their stories and their craft.
In 2018, she co-produced independent feature film, Connect.
Jamey is engaged as an academic by Curtin University’s Screen Arts program and is a regular guest lecturer and mentor for the Screen Academy Scotland in Edinburgh, of which she is an MA Screenwriting alum.
Since 2023, Jamey has also been creating and writing her own slate of TV projects.
